VA Secondary Conditions: What Else You Can Claim
Start from what you’re already rated for and see what else you may be able to claim. A secondary condition is one caused or aggravated by a condition you’re already service-connected for.
Every secondary still needs: the primary is service-connected, a current diagnosis, and a nexus to the primary (aggravation counts). These are common, educational associations — never diagnoses or guarantees.
Educational information only — not legal, medical, or claim representation, and not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Whether a secondary applies to you is a medical judgment for a licensed provider. Confirm criteria on VA.gov.
